My name is Omi. I come from hispanic decedent, A proud Caribbean from the Dominican Republic . Started my career in construction 15 years ago, working at the neighborhood hardware store in Harlem, NY. But we don’t need to go back that far…
While studying architecture and engineering in college, I worked for a local home renovation business, in Upstate, NY. I assisted the team with whatever was needed, like demoing residential apartments and after carpenters and drywallers finish re-framing and installing sheetrock, I then tape the sheetrock and paint. Always eager to get my hands dirty and problem solve. After college, I worked with a construction company specializing in commercial and residential renovation. I started as a painter / taper and eventually developed the skill to coordinate my crew of tapers and painters ,later becoming the crew supervisor. Overseeing a crew of 15- 20 tradesman on multiple jobs at a time.
During my career I’ve taped and painted over 1,000 residential and commercial spaces. I’m dedicated, passionate, and champion tradespeople from all backgrounds and ethnicities. I have extensive, hands-on training having started my career as a construction worker and can creatively problem solve and provide support to my crew whenever needed but of course staying on budget.
The Omi Depot team works efficiently and communicates often creating a level of transparency to ensure deadlines are met and within budget.
